'Your logo on my wedding dress for $30,000!' Bride asks companies to sponsor her dream day

One couple has come up with a way to fund their dream wedding - by selling corporate sponsorships.

Former Miss Jamaica International, turned entrepreneur Courtney McKenzie, 27, and her fiance Jamil are getting married in Thailand this December, and are hoping to raise roughly $30,000 from various companies in exchange for having their logos sewn onto the bride's dress and the groom's tuxedo, and featured on the couple's various social media platforms.

The Orlando, Florida, couple, who have 30,000 combined social media followers, will have a Thai garden wedding featuring an elephant - and yes, even the elephant will bear advertising space: A company can pay to have its logo printed on a 'Just Married' canvas carried by the animal.

They plan to spend 11 days in Bangkok and Phuket, where they will enjoy activities such as scuba diving, elephant trekking and bamboo river rafting.

They also plan to use the money they raise to donate to their favorite charities, such as the Boys and Girls Club and Big Brother, Big Sister.

Miss McKenzie, who is the founder and CEO of Crown Public Relations, and the creator of the popular podcast Entrepreneur 2.0., initially thought that they'd have a big wedding, but ultimately decided that eloping to Thailand better suited the couple's shared love of adventure.

'He has a big family and I have an even bigger family,' she told Cosmopolitan.com. 'We sat down to make the guest list and it was 250 people. But then we thought, "What's true to us?" and we decided we just wanted it to be a lot of fun.'

Miss McKenzie, a digital media consultant, realized that she could draw on her marketing background and large social media following to fund the ambitious idea.

'We will be hashtagging, tweeting and instagramming our way through Thailand to our over 30,000 combined social media followers and we want to include some of our favorite brands on our adventure,' she wrote on their website.

Miss Mckenzie's wedding announcement on Facebook garnered more than 41,000 likes.

Sponsorships that include mentions on the couple's wedding website and various ceremony signage cost between $500 and $5,000, while larger packages - such as one that offers placement on the bride's wedding dress and honeymoon bikini - say 'Contact for pricing.'

Though they have a long way to go in terms of fundraising, Miss McKenzie told Buzzfeed that companies have begun contacting them.

'We have a few Fortune 500 companies who have reached out to us which is exactly what we wanted, as well as smaller companies like GlamHotlist, who are sponsoring my entire wedding and honeymoon wardrobe,' she said, adding that they've also secured a wedding ring sponsor.

The couple have also received their share of criticism, but not enough to deter them from their goal.

'I've gotten a lot of emails saying, "This is so tacky," "How can you put a logo on your wedding dress?" "Your daughter will never be able to wear your dress,"' Miss McKenzie told Cosmopolitan.com, adding: 'It stings a bit. But we feel good about doing it. And it'll be a fun story to tell our kids.'
